The Economist weekly EU iPad App Reviews

The combination of great articles in a nice app and layout with the great audio versions of them makes this one of the best newspapers. This is the way newspapers should be in times of Facebook, Twitter and ever less print circulation.

using this app to grab my economist online while on travel, sometimes even at home. to make it short: it is comfortable and serves almost all needs. the printed version just remains benefitial, when it comes to reading in the Sauna ;-)

Like the app, un-affectionate, straight and content driven. Whos already wasted by effect driven news blasting as in tv might be wrong here... App never failed. Downloading times are a dream!

I always have liked The Economist as a journal that offers a wide variety of topics, has a brilliant range of language and is as most independent as possible in broadcasting a political opinion. The developers of the Ecnomist app provide an intelligent and intuitive type of media. I especially like that the app has now also a definition of unknown words for non-native readers.

Try it and youll never want to read the print edition again!

A must have app to gain a consolidated analysis for the major events.

Re. navigation definitely better than the iPhone version. To avoid banners there are full page adverts, sometimes I have difficulties to get rid of them quickly (= one star less). Contents unbeatable, of course.

Economist has the best content and journalism in the world. The app is easy to use, I love the definitions tool, but Still too much ads. Bottom line: Simply the best!

Simply the best news magazine app out there

Audio playback doesnt work, once you close the app....however the audio still continues to plays within the app. Nearly every update messes with the audio play back. The app 2 years ago was way better than what they are producing now.... Sorry The Economist. Thats how you loose your subscibers!

How about incorporating a built-in dictionary - like the one in iOS - into this awesome app?

It is a good app. Here are some suggestions: page bookmarking rather than article bookmarking; full return to the articles from bookmarking section; dictionary utility or integration with an installed dictionary; highlighting and copying texts. I am looking forward upgrades containing these suggestions.
