The Economist weekly EU iPad App Reviews

I enjoy so much this application! Help non English native to work was certainly not the initial purpose of The Economist when they built this tool. It is so pleasant to use and the possibility to listen articles read by real human voices is a real luxury. Thank you so much!

I read many newspapwers on my ipad, the econimist app is the best. No title tattle.

The Economist is a newspaper for the informed and liberal (in the classical, European sense) reader. It covers politics, economics, technology and culture at a high level. The writing is challenging, but at the same time, playful and inquiring.

was working just great - until i installed the latest update. now it keeps crashing.

You have to delete and reinstall this App under iOS 8.1. Otherwise you can shortly verify that all downloaded editions are gone and then the app crashes

I like the economist, but I think they could do a way better app. I suppose many readers are non native speakers, and even native speakers encounter unknown words in the economist. A killer feature would be this: integrated dictionary for all languages, also in app purchase would be OK. The Economist should work together with a well known company like PONS or Langenscheidt. so by coking a word or phrase to translation or at least explanation should pop up.People would love that feature! I would instantly subscribe to the Economist, if it had that feature. If not I keep on reading online for free...

Some articles can not be read. The screen just freezes!

The Economist was the reason why I choosed iPad. It is by far the best source of any information I need. I can easely post relevant articles, tag them, and store every copy I ever bought. The only disadvantage is, that there is no cloud storage for my tags. So upgrading the gadget means loosing every tag.

Scaling etc

Very structured and simple to navigate. Much better than the printed version!

Under iOS 9 issues are loading but articles can only be viewed partially. Otherwise, the app is well designed and easy to use.

Articles are not displayed completely.....

Why is there no Economist for iPad app in the German App Store?

What a shame that The Economist didnt test their App when iOS 9 was available months ahead of its release. They truly could do better.

On the iPad 2 all multi-page articles are reduced to 1 page. Meaning you cant read more than one page at all. Test your software/apps before you release it for the device, or else dont bother in the first place.

Best content, some wee features (eg bookmarks) missing, too many ads.
